Georgia Tech: Admission Statistics for Class of 2029

Georgia Tech records its lowest acceptance rate in the school’s history, marking an increasingly competitive acceptance rate of just 12.74% for the 2024-2025 admissions cycle. The Office of Undergraduate Admission documented a record number of first-year applications across all application periods. More than 66,000 students applied for first year admission to Georgia Tech this year, highlighting the institution’s growing influence as a leading national technological institution. Out of the 66,000 applications received, 8,520 students were granted admission.

As a public research institution, Georgia Tech has a different acceptance rate for in-state versus out-of-state students. The acceptance rate for Georgia residents was 30% compared to 9% for all other applicants.

Georgia Tech’s admitted students reveal a diverse incoming class, with students representing all 50 states,111 nations, 3,035 high schools, and 130 Georgia counties. 10% of these admitted students are first-generation college students

Within recent years, Georgia Tech has made significant efforts to increase Georgia student applications, embarking on extensive travel efforts across the state. With successful efforts, in-state applications increased this year by 13%
