Stanford

By Sean Khottavong

For the Class of 2028, Stanford University received 57,326 applications and accepted just 2,067 students, resulting in an overall acceptance rate of 3.60%. Although Stanford offers a Restrictive Early Action (REA) option, it has not released specific data regarding REA acceptance rates or the number of students admitted through that round.

Standardized Testing

The academic profile of admitted students reflects Stanford’s highly selective standards. Among those who submitted SAT scores, 95.8% scored between 700–800 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, while an even higher 97.2% scored within that range in Math. Very few admitted students scored below 600. On the ACT, 99.1% of admitted students achieved composite scores between 30–36, with only a small percentage scoring below that. These figures highlight the exceptional academic qualifications of students admitted to Stanford and the university’s position among the most competitive colleges in the world.
